What is Kyread SDF-130A?

Kyread SDF-130A is a magnetic “developer” that permits the visual examination of magnetically recorded data on items such as tapes, disks, and the mag-stripe on ATM cards, hotel card keys, driver’s licenses, currency, and credit cards.

This elegantly simple formulation contains iron particles suspended in a fluid with a rapid evaporation rate. When the developer is placed onto a magnetic surface, the liquid evaporates and the magnetic particles orient themselves in accordance with the magnetic pattern on the surface of the material.

Is SDF-130A Safe?

SDF-130A is also environmentally safe. Several similar products were once available, but all used ozone-depleting chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). With the advent of Federal restrictions on CFCs, other magnetic developers have disappeared from the marketplace.  SDF-130A contains no CFCs, and is fully compliant with all US regulations.

How is SDF-130A Typically Used?
